About

Rachel Dunham, founder of Hummingbird Creative Concepts has always had a passion for creating beautiful presentation pieces. From early school assignments, to personal invitations, her attention to detail has continuously been prevalent in each project she tackles. Even throughout her corporate marketing career, when it wasn’t technically “part of the job,” she found herself continuously updating forms, and professionalizing presentations in order to offer sales reps and VPs alike a truly appealing approach to the project at hand. She even started taking on small design projects for Marketing meetings, and was truly overjoyed to do it because she loved it so much. It was through these small projects that Rachel realized her true calling was not in Marketing, afterall, but in design.

All advances in her corporate career were carefully chosen as stepping stones to make her way closer to working with the design team. Her two promotions on the product management team landed her right beside the product designers, and it was in those roles where she picked up some of her technical design knowledge.

It was also around this time that Rachel met her now good friend and colleague, Linda Joy. Linda had a dream of creating an inspirational publication for women. Similarly, Rachel shared her dream of opening her own design firm. Together, they helped make one another’s dreams a reality throughout the pages of that very first issue of Aspire magazine.

After the birth of her first daughter, Rachel decided that it was time to leave her corporate job and open an independent design service, Dunham Design, in order to fully pursue her passions and also take care of her growing family. She found that most of her work came from the advertisement design she had done for Aspire magazine. Thus, her clients were mostly soul-centered women entrepreneurs. Working with these women, Rachel soon recognized that her passion for great design could greatly benefit women who needed it. It was a wonderful feeling. Not only that, but she could identify with these clients. Working one-on-one, in a real collaborative style, Rachel learned to truly listen to her clients. By listening deeply, she was able to capture the emotion and feeling of her client’s words in her design work.

After two years, it was clear to Rachel that her gifts far exceeded her expectations. Not only was she pursuing her dream of designing, she was also successfully capturing the dreams of her clients through her work. In the Fall of 2009, ready for growth and committed to helping more women achieve their own business dreams, Rachel re-launched her company under the new business name, Hummingbird Creative Concepts. Her refreshing approach to design offers clients a unique opportunity to create the perfect brand for their business, their clients and themselves.
